About this trip

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from La Paz to El Alto, offering breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding Andean mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll enter a lively wrestling arena, where the excitement begins to build as the crowd gathers.The Cholitas, indigenous Aymara women, step into the ring dressed in their traditional attire—colorful pollera skirts, braided hair, and bowler hats—a striking contrast to their powerful wrestling moves. These women take on their opponents with skill, performing high-flying acrobatics, dramatic throws, and entertaining theatrics. Each match tells a story, often reflecting themes of justice, empowerment, and resilience.The energy in the arena is electric, with spectators cheering, laughing, and engaging in the show. The matches are not only about competition but also about breaking stereotypes, as these women redefine their roles in society through strength and determination.

What to Expect

The airport transfer that I setup with Diana Tours was of great help! My flight arrived at 0400 in the morning and trying to worry about getting a taxi was one that I did not need. My driver was waiting for me! Easily identified by a sign with my name on it. The driver made sure that I was taken care at my hotel before he left me. Thank you Diana Tours!

The driver was there, waiting for me as I exited through customs.  He was very pleasant and helpful and we had an enjoyable conversation on the way to the hotel.

The pick up was on time and the driver was very friendly.

No one was waiting for us at the arrival at the airport . We contacted Diana tours and they arranged by phone a transfer with a public airport taxi . So we lost 30 minutes . The cost of the official taxi was an half of the cost with Diana tours . 
I do not advise to use Diana tours at Cusco
 

Great trip - interesting history, bilingual guide and nice lunch. Very enjoyable if you like historical sites.
